SAILABILITY Tin Can Bay will receive $16,819 as part of Queensland Government funding for not-for-profit organisations.
The Gympie community organisation was just one of 44 groups to share in more than $1.25 million of grants from the Jupiter's Casino Community Benefit Fund.
Minister responsible for Gaming, Peter Lawlor said the fund provided much-needed money to groups that worked with the community. “Queensland is lucky to have organisations like these working for the community. Most of the people involved in these organisations volunteer hours of time, dedicated to providing a service for their community,” Mr Lawlor said.
“Through grant funding they are able to provide services to help educate people, enhance community safety and improve sport and leisure activities and opportunities to those who might not otherwise have them.”
“Sailability Tin Can Bay for example will be using their $16,819 grant to purchase two dinghies and a shore shuttle.”
The Jupiter's Casino Community Benefit Fund provides one-off grants of up to $150,000 to not-for-profit organisations. Further information is available on the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation website at www.olgr.qld.gov.au
