Rooty Hill RSL off restricted pub list

ROOTY Hill RSL has been removed from the State Government’s list of top 48 violent licensed premises.

Last month, the Government released the names of 66 licensed venues that will face new restrictions aimed at curbing alcohol-related violence.

Gaming and Racing Minister Kevin Greene said 66 venues would be subject to new conditions from December 1.

But 25 venues on the initial list were removed, including Rooty Hill RSL.

St Marys RSL and Ex-Servicemen’s Club will be subjected to three main restrictions.

“In December last year we imposed special conditions on 48 violent venues and we’ve now seen alcohol-related assaults and glassing attacks fall dramatically,” Mr Greene said. “We’ve now reviewed the list based on updated assault data.”

He said 66 venues would be subject to special conditions for six months until the list was revised on June 1, 2010.
