CENTRAL Coast police have joined an international operation to combat alcohol-related crime.
Operation Unite involves officers from Australia and New Zealand aiming to curb the growing problem.
Each weekend police are called out to hundreds of alcohol-related incidents from robberies to assaults.
Last weekend Tuggerah Lakes police responded to 62 alcohol-related incidents, including eight assaults.
Brisbane Water police attended 78 incidents involving alcohol, including 10 assaults and two robberies.
Some of these included:
* A 15-year-old girl treated for bruising and cuts on her face, legs and stomach after she was set upon by a group of unknown men at Narara on Sunday. They attacked for no apparent reason but stopped when she fell to the ground.
* A man suffering various facial injuries, including a split lip and bruising, after three men, believed to be intoxicated, attacked him and kicked in the door of his car at Woy Woy on Friday night.* A girl, 19, attacked by an intoxicated female at a licensed premises at Woy Woy. She suffered bruising to her face. “It is a growing trend that we are sick and tired of,” Brisbane Water inspector Nigel Webber said. “The community have had enough and so have we.”
Operation Unite starts on December 11 with extra police flooding known-black spots
